In recent news, we’re excited to report that the DTES NH has reached almost 80% of its fundraising goal for a much needed renovation and expansion project.

Having grown up in Pakistan, Shaista wanted to find a sense of community after moving to Vancouver. After searching for resources in the area, she soon became involved in our Family Drop-In program. The SRO Collaborative and the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House have been working together to deliver 200 hot meals weekly to four different SRO hotels, or single room occupancy units. We caught up with Jill of the SRO Collaborative to learn about the work they do and the partnership.

With COVID-19 funding coming to an end on April 1st, the Neighbourhood House is having to slow services to pre-pandemic times due to reduced staffing and resources.
